DAMIEN HIRST SHOW IN ALBERTINA MODERN, VIENNA

Damien Hirst is for me one of the defining artists of our generation. A prominent figure of the 1990s Young British Artists (YBAs) movement, he is celebrated for his bold conceptual works that explore life, death and human vulnerability. Hirst’s different series became icons of mainstream visual identity: the shark and sheep in the formaldehyde series, the spots and spins paintings, the medicine cabinets, the butterfly series and of course the skull in „for the love of god“.

It was fantastic to see a broad retrospective in Albertina Modern in Vienna – already some time ago but the memories stick and hence finally the post.
