„BLANK CANVAS“ ART SPACE – GEORGETOWN, MALAYSIA

Georgetown, the old part of Penang and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a special place in itself. Our friends there have developed there a unique art space which seeks to be a bridge between a richly historical city and its broader environs and the international contemporary art world:

Blank Canvas is an independent contemporary arts platform which opened in 2022 and brings ambitious shows to this wonderful old city which itself has become famous for its mural street art.

When visiting our friends we enjoyed the show „Involuntary Writing“ by Slovenian artist Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec. The show unfolds as an installation centered around the unintentional ink stains that occur while writing by hand. The enlarged ink stain invites you to think, dream and just dive into the unintended aspects of life.
