NEW IN THE COLLECTION – MANDY EL-SAYEGH

Malaysian born Mandy El-Sayegh investigates with her multi media art how systems are formed and break-down. Among the fragments she uses as „parts“ for her art are often copies of the Financial Times – one of my favorite papers, but also bank notes or advertisements. Mandy then collages these diverse elements together and imposes her own perspective including layers of color and structures like the grids she is well-known for.

Mandy El-Sayegh’s work has received wide attention and was recently shown in multiple museum shows, in prominent spots at Art Basel, as well as at the Venice Biennale 2019 and the Busan Biennale 2020.

Special thanks to Shasha Tittmann and the Lehmann Maupin team for advising us on this acquisition for our collection.  We are happy we finally found the best suited Mandy El-Sayegh work for our collection!
