NEW IN THE COLLECTION – SHINRO OHTAKE’S 2nd WORK

Ever since we saw Shinro Ohtake’s older works in Tokyo, and then the large installations on the Japanese art island, Naoshima, we have been excited about this multi-disciplinary, creative style. While Shinro Ohtake has been widely recognized at Documenta (2012), Venice Biennale (2013) and in various global museum shows, he is less present compared to other leading Japanese contemporary artists. But for us he is a favorite, together with Izumi Kato. Some years ago we acquired a first older work, and we are happy we can now complement this with a more recent collage work. What makes this one special is the theme „UK / HK“ – the combination of these two places is very personal to us living in Hong Kong but our children studying in the UK.
